Ozma is the daughter of a ruler of Oz whose throne the Wizard seized. He gave the baby to Mombi, who changed her into a boy named Tip. In The Marvelous Land of Oz Glinda makes Mombi undo the spell, and Ozma takes the throne of the Emerald City and reigns over all the Land of Oz.
